How Are Our Books Created?

1. CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT

Conceptualizing a new custom book depends on two factors: the desire to complete existing collections and the demand from our readers for specific instalments. Once the concept has been defined, our author and illustrators put their heads together to create a book that appeals to our target readers.

The new story and plot are then outlined by the author. Once the concept has been approved, our creative team reaches for its very best pencils to put the very first sketches down on paper. This initial stage of the process can take between a month to a month and a half.

Over the months that follow, a number of debates and discussions on the content, literary and stylistic effects, and color schemes will take place. As our author finalizes the book's story, our illustrators move on to the coloring phase of sketch production, which includes, not just color, but also shadow and texture.

2. PERSONALIZATION AND TRANSLATION

This is when the things get serious. It’s time to customize the illustrations. Every illustration in our books contains several thousand possible combinations. Not only can you name and select the gender of your hero, but you can also define their appearances! Thanks to the overwhelming talent of our team, our customers are able to select not just the color of eyes and hair, but to also add freckles or glasses to your character.

The written texts for the book are then handed over to our "localization" department. All of our stories and poems are written in English by our in-house author after which they are translated into the languages of the countries our books are available in. Our texts are all translated by certified native speaker translators before being then meticulously screened by a highly qualified team to ensure that the author’s original meaning is preserved and that no grammatical or spelling errors are missed.

3. TESTING

Once all of the content has been prepared and digitized, a meticulous testing phase is carried out to guarantee that both the artistic and digital parameters have been perfected making sure that your experience with us is a magical one. 

Our three printhouses also work hard to ensure that our products pass the quality check phase while also keeping a close eye on production rates.

4. THE LAUNCH

Once everything is ready, the product is put up on our website and, from that point on, the book, greeting card, or freebie is available and ready to be personalized!
