You get me making big plans;

I want to hear all the stories you know.
What will we do together? Show me all the things I’ll see.
I’m growing day by day and have a long way still to go,
But tomorrow’s not so far away,
SO LET’S MAKE TODAY ALL IT CAN BE.

LITTLE LIAM,
YOU’RE DOING BIG THINGS ALREADY!
Take your time, keep those steps steady.
We’ll have lots of fun together, of that I am sure,

GRANDDAD,
Is it time to go already? Your stories flew by,
But I still have mine to tell – this one’s crazy, but it’s true!
You start me with a push, soon my feet touch the sky,
This might seem like enough, BUT NOT FOR ME AND YOU.

You taught me “PUMP!” so up I jump – what a good trick!
You make each lesson stick! Granddad, what don’t you know!?
Gripping tight, knuckles white, then I hear, “Liam, kick!”
You got me to the top, now I have something to show:

“Granddad, here I come! Watch me fly!”
I LET GO.

Will arms pull us together? We don’t need them to.
Could I stay here FOREVER? I sure like the view.

I land on my own, but, Granddad, you catch me too.
You never let me feel alone.
