Blame it on this personalized children’s book .
Over the past few months, we’ve noticed a phenomena that caught us a little off guard. It’s something we weren’t really expecting, although it has come as a delightful surprise.
Real men aren’t afraid to show their emotions.
We released “When Theo Grows Up – Daddy Edition” knowing full-well that fathers have a bond with their children that borders on the intangible. Indeed, many great authors have tried to put their fingers on what it means to be a dad, and, as the cliché goes, you’ll never know until you are one. There are fleeting, ephemeral moments when someone else’s words come close, but the bond is too deep, too powerful to define. The closest any word can come to it is one of the simplest, but also the truest: LOVE.
It’s ok if you can’t hold back the emotions that well up when reading our “Grows Up” – Daddy Edition. You aren’t the first, and you won’t be the last.
When we see fathers reading to their sons or daughters or stepsons and stepdaughters, many times they cannot hold back that one particular emotion fathers feel for their children. We smile, we laugh, we hug, but one of the purest manifestations of this indefinable feeling we call love are tears. They’re tears that touch something deeper, primordial, about us, and it warms our hearts, and makes us think about our own fathers or our own children.
Our Daddy Edition strikes again!
Thank you to all the parents willing to share these men in their vulnerability. It’s a true testament to the strength of their devotion to their children. If you’ve got a video of dad crying, be sure to send it to us!
