We absolutely love getting videos from parents speaking about our books, but sometimes we get a video that is just too good not to share with all of you. Timothy Sans (a.k.a. Fashionable Father) made a video about our bestselling personalized kids’ book, the Daddy Edition of “When Samuel Grows Up”, and we have to admit, we were all in tears when we watched it.
What do YOU think is the #1 thing people say to you when you become a parent?
This seems to be a pretty common question. But the ONE THING everyone agrees on is how quickly the time passes as you raise your child. In his video, there’s a touching montage of how Timothy’s son Arthur has grown up, from his first days at home to riding his bicycle. And all of that flashes before our very eyes, both literally and metaphorically.
One day, one hour, one minute, one second at a time
Timothy puts it best when he says, “As a parent it’s easy to get caught up in the mundane. We forget how fast time flies. The days are long, but the years are so, so short.” And we couldn’t agree more. These are the exact sentiments that prompted us to write “When Samuel Grows Up”and “Hooray, Jeremy! You Did It!”, our new book that celebrates a child’s first milestones. Memories are fleeting, and as time goes by, despite how hard we may try, they tend to fade.
But why these books in particular?
We wanted to create books to cherish those memories, books that encapsulate and memorialize these tiny, precious, pearly moments shared between parents and their children. “When you have a child, you see so much happen and so much changes… and in a few months he’s that much bigger… He’s hitting a milestone, he’s saying his first word,… and all this stuff just reminds you that time is just slipping away.”
So savor them the best you can!
Take too many pictures. Bask in their accomplishments. Praise them. Tell them you love them and are proud of them. Read that extra bedtime story. And most important of all, ENJOY EACH AND EVERY PRECIOUS MOMENT TOGETHER!
